One of my favorite interview questions is "What professional
publications have you read recently?" This question serves two
purposes. First, it shows what the candidate believes are important
topics. More importantly, though, it indicates the candidate's attitude towards
learning and education: avid professional reading implies curiosity, motivation
and self-training.
